So Bekah reminded me to do this. For those of you who care to read it, here it is. I did it more for me though. I like putting the year in review because it helps me see how God has worked in my life and helps me praise Him for all He's done. So here goes.

2006 In Review

January--Rang in the new year with Brad at Ashley MacLeod's house. Went back to CCC to start semester #6. Almost had Brad break up with me for various reasons....but he stuck it out

February--Celebrated Valentine's Day with Brad and can't really remeber a whole lot about this month. It's a blur.

March--Went to ITALY with 60 amazing people and had the time of my life! Brad and I made it from the top of St. Peter's basilica to the shop way out in the street in 6 minutes. Followed super tourist (aka Alan) around Venice and got lost several times, but that's ok, he got us $.50 gondola rides across the grand canal. Celebrated my 31 hour-long  21st birthday by waking up in Milan, Italy, spending the entire day getting sick on the plane, got 2 stamps in my passport.

April--Spent pretty much all my free time in Secret Garden rehearsal and helping Brad and Luke run lines and performed 5 shows of Secret Garden. But what a success! Lots of backstage fun with everyone. Spent a weekend with my family at our Redington Beach condo. Went through break-up #1, but got back together 10 days later.

May--Went through the whirlwind week of exams, checking girls out, and prepping for graduation. Said good-bye to Brad for a month. Drove 12 hours to Greenville, SC, picked up my brother, and continued the drive home, thankfully uneventful. Became a Mary Kay consultant and started my job at Concord EMS.

June--Surprised Brad by driving 3 hours to a church in Indiana and spent the day with the ensemble. Took another trip to Grand Rapids 2 weeks later to see them and went through break-up #2. Brad stayed at my house 10 days later and though we didn't talk very much things were still good. Went to Luke and Liz's wedding in PA.

July--Spent 4th of July with the family, didn't really do much. Went to Cedar Point with the ensemble. Month spent working primarily.

August--Finished up work and headed to CCC to start what would be the hardest semester in my college career. Started attending Hillsdale Baptist Church and absolutely love it.

September--School, school, school. Between school work, work, proctor responsibilities, and lots of friend drama I didn't have a whole lot of free time. But God kept teaching me to trust in Him because everything I planned was falling through.

October--Went to Typhoon Lagoon with Aruba, Roosje, and Viona. More work, work, work and very little sleep. Watched the Tigers make it to the World Series! Even though they lost, it was a great ride. Went home to check out University of Michigan for an education grad program.

November--Finally a break! Aruba and I drove to Columbus, Ohio to spend the weekend at Melissa Taylor's house. Drove to Michigan to spend the rest of the week at my house, yay! Did lots of  "Michigan"-ish things: took Aruba to the Cider Mill, went to the IMAX, did a family dinner at downtown Detroit's Pizza Papalis. Finally got back together with Brad for Lord-willing the last time (no more break ups!).

December--Went to the Christmas banquet with Aruba and hung out at Miss Cancel's afterwards. Saw God's provision with everyone's genorosity to help send Aruba home for Christmas. Had the worst day because my car decided to die at the light to go into school, got it pushed into the entrance, then had my girls calling me to check them out while trying to call AAA to get a tow truck and figure out what was going on. Without Brad, I would've been lost. He rode with the tow truck and figured everything out with my dad while I packed and checked all my girls out. Came home for some much needed down time. Started working 2 jobs over Christmas, not hard, just long days. Went to Trevor and Annette's wedding and saw lots of my Clearwater friends! yay! Went to many many Christmas parties between my family and Brad's family. Rang in the new year with Brad

This year was so much easier than last year, save this past semester. God has worked so much by teaching me to trust in Him. It seems that even though He pulled out every plan I had for my life, He set things back up just to show me I needed to trust Him and that He works things out better than my plan. I thank Him for the year and how He's worked in me and blessed me.

Here's to 2007--graduation and many, many good things.

I leave tomorrow morning to go back to school. I was so ready to go back until I got a memo from Hodges today about the schedule for the weekend....hate my life. That memo alone made me really not want to go back...::sigh:: Oh well, only one more year, thankfully. Can't wait to see my friends, they make it worth it!! So until Thanksgiving, try not to miss my updates.

July 25, 2006...a day that needs to never be revisited. looking forward to tomorrow, a new day.

3 1/2 weeks 'til I head back to Clearwater. Never thought I'd say it, but I can't wait! I want my friends back...within walking distance of me!

Fret not, all you who would miss me in the spring. I'll be back. Kinda stinks since I was looking forward to graduating in December, but this answers a lot of questions. ::sigh:: So another year.

Wednesday, July 12, 2006

So I may not be graduating in December like I thought I would. I was looking at the grad program at U of M I want to get into today, and it turns out that if I get the english minor I've been planning on getting since the beginning, I'll be more marketable and it'll be better in the long run....but it means staying for spring semester. I'm on such school burn-out, I really do NOT want to stay another semester, but it'd be better in the long run. Now I have to get on the phone and talk to Hutchison to see if everything works out. ::sigh:: I guess that answers the question of what I'm doing in the spring. I'll keep you all posted on what comes about. I'm off to make some dinner. Happy summer!
